Here are five of our favorite ways to spend an Easter weekend at Willow Point Resort.

1. Participate in our Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Easter holds a special place in our hearts at Cedar Lodge. Spending time amongst loved ones, decorating eggs, and enjoying lots of lake fun make this holiday one of our favorites. In fact, we love celebrating Easter so much, every year we host a family Easter Egg Hunt at our property. Having fond memories of the holiday, we wanted to create a fun, family-friendly experience that other families could enjoy.

When you choose to stay at Willow Point Resort for your Easter holiday, you can rest assured you’ll be able to relax and unwind. No need to buy bags of candy, fill plastic eggs, or scatter them about the house. Our Easter Egg Hunt means all that work is taken care of, and you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment.

There’s nothing more joyful than watching your children’s faces light up as they run around outside in search of hidden goodies. Seeing the delight on their faces is sure to make you feel nostalgic and will be an experience your kids will cherish for years to come.

2. Spend Quality Time with Your Family

A weekend retreat to Cedar Lodge also means plenty of quality time spent with family. Start your morning off with a fresh cup of coffee on your screened-in porch as you admire the peacefulness of your surroundings. When the kids wake up, take advantage of the cabin’s kitchenette and cook up an Easter brunch of your own – no long lines to wait in!

Once you’re done, head over to our Annual Easter Egg Hunt for a morning of family fun. Watch the kids light up with smiles as they find their hidden treasure. After you’ve indulged in some good old-fashioned Easter fun, spend the afternoon relaxing lakeside at our Resort’s private sandy beach.

Need an activity to keep the kids busy? From kayak to canoe rentals, we have plenty of fun water activities for kids of all ages or bring some tubes out on the lake for a casual dip. As the day drifts away, wind down your evening with an outdoor barbeque using your cabin’s private grill and picnic table. For a special treat, make use of our bonfire (we’ll provide the firewood) for some delicious late-night s’mores! It’s sure to be a day your family won’t soon forget.

3. Explore the Texas Hill Country

If you’re looking for some outdoor fun the whole family can enjoy, look no further than one of the many state parks surrounding Lake Buchanan. Although there is an abundance of fantastic options, one of our favorites this time of year is Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.

This area is home to an enormous pink granite dome that rises 1,825 feet above sea level and 425 feet off the ground. Not only is it a sight to be seen from afar, but the views from the top are extraordinary. With nearly 11 miles of hiking trails, there’s plenty of ground to explore.

The most popular trail is the Summit Trail to the rock’s peak which takes about 45 minutes to climb but is oh-so-worth-it for those breathtaking views of the surrounding Hill Country. Just be sure to get there early in the morning as they often close the park once it reaches capacity, or buy a “Save the Day” pass up to 30 days before your visit to guarantee access. A day spent at Enchanted Rock is sure to be a memorable adventure for everyone.

4. Soak in the Final Days of Spring

With Easter falling late this year, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a weekend at the lake when the weather isn’t too chilly or too hot. Avoid the rush of Easter brunch crowds, and instead, spend your weekend soaking up the last days of spring before the sweltering heat of summer sets in.

From bluebonnets to Indian paintbrushes, there’s no shortage of natural beauty this time of year. Marvel at fields painted with wildflowers, or take a drive out to one of the nearby watering holes and gaze over a landscape blanketed in red, blue, and yellow.

One of our favorite local watering holes is nestled in nearby Inks Lake State Park. A visit to Devil’s Waterhole makes for a perfect outing with your family. Hike along the small canyon surrounding the waterhole, or take a leisurely dip at this popular swimming spot.

5. Spend a Sunny Afternoon on Lake Buchanan

Whether you’re fishing or boating, there’s nothing better than a day spent on the lake. The second largest of the Highland Lakes, Lake Buchanan is a popular destination for vacationers, boaters, fishers, and swimmers alike. With 124 miles of shoreline, its granite gravel shores make it an ideal place to cool off in the water or spend a relaxing afternoon soaking up the sun.
